The most common brand name for these injections is Botox. These injections work by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles responsible for causing dynamic wrinkles. How Anti-Wrinkle Injections Work:
The active ingredient in anti-wrinkle injections is a purified form of botulinum toxin, a naturally occurring substance that blocks nerve signals to muscles. When injected into specific facial muscles, the toxin temporarily prevents these muscles from contracting, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Treatment Procedure:
Anti-wrinkle injections are performed at our clinic by Annie, our nurse. The procedure is relatively quick and minimally invasive. A small amount of the botulinum toxin is injected into targeted facial muscles using a fine needle. Patients may experience minor discomfort during the injection, but it is generally well-tolerated.
